Position: Supplier Quality Engineer (Graduate)
Reporting to: Quality Manager
Responsibility:
- Responsibility for maintaining a system for monitoring supplier performance in terms of Product Quality, Delivery Performance, Quality of Support and
- Maintenance of the Supplier Concerns Database with an aim of reducing the time to close supplier concerns to a minimum and for ensuring Corrective and Preventive Actions are 100% effective.
- Assessing problems with components reported from the shopfloor, liaison with the appropriate supplier and arranging disposition of such parts, on a daily basis, as appropriate.
- Contribute to developing suppliers to CEL to improve their performance to CEL by auditing their processes with a view to help identify root cause(s) of problem(s) and to advise possible corrective action paths.
- Preparation of reports and/or presentation(s) to show performance of the above
responsibilities for Management Review.
- Conduct Internal Quality Audits to ensure compliance of CEL¿s Quality System to the requirements of the TS 16949:2002 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Contribute to the sourcing and/or approval of new suppliers for New Product Introduction Programmes (where applicable).
- Administration of the Quarantine area and to ensure the contents therein are kept to a minimum ¿ targets to be agreed with the Quality Manager.
- Ownership of the MSD protection & preservation system for components.
- Contributing to the development of the ERP system for the supplier control modules.
- Engineering or Science based Degree with Post Graduate Quality Diploma is preferred
- College work experience in an electro/mechanical industry would be an advantage
- A knowledge of how to conduct a supplier and/or internal audit to the requirements of ISO TS 16949:2002, or ISO 9001:2000.
- A knowledge of established problem solving methodologies e.g. TOPS G8D, 5 Why, Cause & Effect.
- Use of statistical analysis tools such as Cp, Cpk, Gauge R&R, Pareto etc.
- Articulate and effective communicator, written and oral.
- Highly organized with a clear understanding of priorities and focused on achieving results.
