RESPONSABILITATI

Position: Resident Engineer
Responsibility:
Mechanical Engineering
Conceptual packaging, design development; material selection, test and implementation for an interior trim application.
The individual will implement the chosen design within the project team whilst liaising with the customer to provide support on planned output & deliverables.
Identify & Schedule all project related development activities in conjunction with Company/customer product development manager and relevant project manager.
These could include:
- Packaging studies
- Concept design
- Prototype development inc. on vehicle tests,
- Product design inc. verification/validation
Management of sub-suppliers e.g. Tool maker, injection molder, materials, test, customer visits, etc
Report & Deliver output to Product Development Manager or Project Manager
Conduct / Manage relevant DV & PV Testing as agreed
Carry out all work to comply with Company Quality Management System
Participate in Project Teams and report on Mechanical Development activities as appropriate e.g.
Input to ongoing APQP status reports.
Complete scheduled tasks within assigned projects to output to the project team as per agreed timing
Plan
Assist Team Leader with the following tasks as agreed:
Reviews of Internal requirements, Customer Requirements, Specifications etc.
Selecting appropriate design solutions
General Mechanical design reviews and problem resolution.
DFMEA, DFM&T and DVP&R activities on assigned projects
Weekly updates on progress
Resident Engineering Support

Represent Company at assigned Customer locations:
- Sit on OEM project teams and contribute to the development of product
specifications.
- Act as a ¿day to day¿ technical interface between Company and the OEM.
- Liaise with other relevant suppliers which whom Company must work with.
- Carry out all system testing on site at the OEM for assigned projects.
- Support Product Validation planning and execution.
- Assist Company when quoting for new projects by efficiently gathering relevant
information within multiple departments of an OEM.
- Provide logistical support for the efficient delivery of Hardware / Software throughout the development lifecycle.
- Act as internal ¿eyes & ears¿ to protect Company interests within large system teams.

Interact within relevant OEM customers to manage the seamless exchanges of drawings using the systems appropriate to each customer

This position will necessitate a high level of interaction with other functional departments within Company e.g. Business Development, Quality, Manufacturing and Purchasing etc, all of whom have a function within the Company Future Business Group.

This position will involve considerable interaction with New Business Development personnel to assist in the communication of Technical specifications between Company and its Customer base. This will be very important throughout the RFQ process.


CERINTE

The following skills, attributes and experience are required:

- A Mechanical Engineering qualification;
- A strong mechanical engineering background;
- Min 3-5 years automotive experience;
- Catia V4 essential (1000+ hours), V5 an advantage;
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Self-starter with drive and enthusiasm.
