Position: Manufacturing Engineer (NPI)
Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Responsibility:
Delivery of World Class Performance through the application of both Process &
Quality Engineering.
This will involve working directly with Engineering Team Leader(s) & Project
Manager(s) to meet Project Milestones.
Key Tasks:
- Attendance at Project Meetings & delivering on Open Issues assigned.
- Analysing RFQs to estimate the Process Set-Up Costs and Labour content.
- Definition of Quality Performance requirements ¿ agree PPM Targets in
conjunction with NPI Quality Eng.
- Review Design Inputs ie; Customer Drgs, Specs FMEAS, Black/Grey Lists,
Design Reviews.
- Review Design Outputs & Targets and assess impact on Mfg Cell Design
- Select Special & Critical Product Characteristics in conjunction with Design
Eng, NPI Quality Eng & Customer where applicable.
- Process Flow Chart: - Generation of Process Flow Charts.
- Design of Mfg Cells ¿ based on detailed Takt Time Analysis.
- Generation & Execution of Process Verification Plan & Report.
- Design of Raw Material & Product Handling Systems in Mfg Cell.
- DFM Reviews: - DFM Reviews with relevant Design & Test Engineers for
each Process Step on PFC.
- Equipment Requirements: Design/Sourcing of Equipment required to meet
both the Capability & Capacity required.
- Project Manage suppliers of External Equipment/Fixturing.
- Ensure all measurement Equipment is included on Calibration System.
- Approval of Raw Material & Product Gold Samples.
- Review & Design of Packaging Requirements including ESD Packaging.
- Assessment of special material handling requirements ie; MSDs.
- Cross-check BOMs with Design Eng/Eng Administrator before issue.
- Risk Assessments ¿ detailed analysis of H & S issues in advance of the
introduction of New Equipment or Processes
- Generation of Project Documentation ¿ Timing Plans, PFMEAs, Build
Reviews, Process Validation Reports, Control Plans, Capability Studies,
Capacity Statements, OEE Reports, Operator Instructions, Maintenance
Schedules, Training Plans, PSW Submissions etc
- Advance Planning & Managing of all activities on the Day(s) of each Build
supported by the NPI Build Co-ordinator, Production Mgr &Training Coordinator
to ensure successful delivery of Product as per Project Milestones.
- Resource Planning based on Engineering Standards and communication of
NPI Resource demands to Operations Manager to ensure availability for
Training & Product Builds.
- Defining Training Requirements for Operators/Technicians in conjunction with
Supervisors, NPI Build Co-ordinator & Test Eng to meet our objectives for
Cross Training (Minimum of 2 Ops/Techs Trained in each Process to facilitate
Job Rotation within Cell).
- Drive the implementation of Kanban Systems to ensure clear definition of
Material Handling Systems in Mfg Cells.
- Introduction of 5S Principles into each Mfg Cell before transfer to Operations.
- Clearly define the Data Capture and Display Points in each Mfg Cell and with
the support of the Training Co-ordinator & NPI Build Co-ordinator train
Operators in the correct completion of relevant documentation.
- Presentation of the Process to both internal & external Customer.
- Working directly with the Project Team to ensure we meet Customer Project
Realisation requirements ie; Communication requirements ¿ Freq of
Communication, Completion of Forms & Content.
- Resolve Customer Quality Issues in conjunction with Supplier Quality Eng &
NPI Quality Eng until complete transfer to Operations.
- Support Operations in resolving Technical Issues within sustaining
Operations.


CERINTE

- Degree/Diploma in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial/Electronic
Engineering.
- Minimum 3 Years Experience in Electronics Mfg Environment.
- Working knowledge of Cellular Manufacturing Design, Takt Time Analysis,
APQP, PPAP MSA, PFMEAs, DFM Rules, 5S & OEE Measurement.
- Team player with initiative.
