Position: Automation Engineer (NPI)
Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Responsibility:
- Delivery of World Class Performance through the introduction of Automated
Assembly & Test Solutions.
- This will involve working directly with Engineering Team Leader(s), Project
Manager(s) & Manufacturing Engineers to meet Project Milestones.
Key Tasks:
- Attendance at Project Meetings & delivering on Open Issues assigned.
- Analysing RFQs to estimate the Process Set-Up Costs and Labour content.
- Support Mfg Eng in the definition of the Process Flow Chart: - Automation
Concepts with Cost Benefit Analysis
- Support Mfg Engs in the Design/Redesign of Mfg Cells ¿ based on detailed
Takt Time Analysis and Cost Benefit Analysis to justify Manual/Semiauto/
Automated Processes.
- Generation & Execution of Process Verification Plan & Report to prove
Process Capability.
- Design of Automated solutions for Raw Material & Product Handling Systems.
- DFM Reviews: - DFM Reviews with relevant Design & Test Engineers to
support the introduction of Cost effective automated solutions.
- Equipment Requirements: Design/Sourcing of Automation Equipment
Providers to meet both the Capability & Capacity required.
- Project Manage suppliers of External Equipment/Fixturing.
- Risk Assessments ¿ detailed analysis of H & S issues in advance of the
introduction of New Equipment or Processes
- Generation of Project Documentation ¿ Timing Plans, PFMEAs, Build
Reviews, Process Validation Reports, Control Plans, Capability Studies,
Capacity Statements, OEE Reports, Operator Instructions, Maintenance
Schedules, Training Plans etc
- Presentation of both Conceptual & Actual Processes to both internal &
external Customer.
- Support Operations in resolving Technical Issues within sustaining
Operations.
- Degree/Diploma in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial/Electronic
Engineering.
- Minimum 6 Years Experience in providing Automation Solutions in high
volume Electronics Mfg Environment with particular emphasis on providing
solutions for the Automated Assembly & Test of Electronic Modules into
Plastics/Metal Housings.
- Experience in dealing with Electronic & Plastics Design Engineers,
Injection & Die Cast Moulders.
- Working knowledge of Cellular Manufacturing Design, Takt Time Analysis,
APQP, PPAP MSA, PFMEAs, DFM Rules, 5S & OEE Measurement.
- Project Management experience.
- Team player with initiative.
Salary 40.000 - 50.000 ¿/year
