Project description

The project involves a Refinery Expansion. The refinery commenced operation in December 2009. However, the demand for petroleum products has been rising rapidly in recent years. It is proposed to expand the refinery with the addition of a new pre-flash unit and a gasoline block plus associated offsite and utility facilities.

Job responsibilities



1. Project realization

Coordinate the progress and the scope of activities of the contractors, as well as identify delays and ensure that corrective measures will be taken by the contractors, taking account of the sequence of activities as laid down in the plan approved by the Construction Manager / Project Manager, in order to complete the construction phase in one’s own disciple according to the required standards.

The client is looking for a ‘fixer’, so helping the project to make progress. This means that if you need something from the Tebodin Dubai office, they expect you to pro-actively chase the office.



2. Quality

Check and monitor the contractor’s activities at site as well as the produced documents for detail design, procurement and method statements, in accordance with general technical guidelines, applicable standards and specific requirements laid down in the specifications, in order to contribute to the quality of the work.



3. QSHWE

Ensure compliance with QSHWE-standards on the building site and take corrective measures, in accordance with legislation and regulations, and specific client demands, in order to secure the health and safety of workers from the various parties involved and prevent unsafe situations and accidents.



4. Reporting

Report on the status of the work to the Construction Manager / Project Manager, taking account of the requirements and interests of the various parties involved, in order to coordinate the activities in the construction phase of the project and thus promote its progress. Report on the compliance with QHSE standards through site inspections and (near) miss reports.



5. Additional work

Check for additional work and report this to the Construction Manager / Project Manager, in accordance with the interpretation of the specifications, material outlays and applicable unit prices, in order to monitor costs and make these transparent.

Project schedule

Construction has started and is expected to end first quarter 2013.



Size of project

Project value is approximately USD 200,000,000.



Salary and other conditions

Working week is 6 days, 60 hours per week.

The client will provide accommodation and transport to site. The transport may be a bus service for the employees.



Duration of contract

Start date shall be 15 April 2012.
The duration of the current assignment is expected to be 6 to 9 months.
The candidate will be employed for the duration of the project only. After project completion, the contract may be terminated.
