The candidate will need to be proficient in diagnosing problems on Linux systems and prioritizing remedial actions.
The ideal applicant will have at least 2 years experience (either inside or outside of work) and must be used to multiple Linux distributions. Designing, building and physical maintenance are also a bonus.
Advanced usage of as many of the following is beneficial: iptables; VLANs; VPN's; Xen; Software RAID; Hardware RAID; LVM; drbd; heartbeat; Apache; Tomcat; PostgreSQL; MySQL; bash; PERL
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with a Uk based team of Senior Sysadmins to support a Geographically diverse production server base and will maintain support of a series of international VPNs to various offices around the world. Must have Excellent grasp of English, in order to communicate ideas / situations to people whose first language is not English.
Upon commencement of the role, the candidate will work a 24 hour rota with other members of staff to be worked out upon selection, any special requirements with regard to this must be imparted upon application.
