The Senior Java Developer position requires experience in software design and development in a corporate environment. Applicant must have a proven track record of developing software to specification in a high quality and timely fashion. Applicant must be able to work well with other developers in a team environment, and must be able to interact with non-technical employees to understand project requirements. A proactive approach to problem solving is a must.
Responsibilities:
+ Work closely with senior developers to help refine new feature specifications;
+ Mentor Junior developers;
+ Develop robust and maintainable software;
+ Assist in the testing of software by specifying test requirements;
+ Take active responsibility for the quality of the product;
+ Manage individual projects, ensure timeliness of deliverables, and work with other engineers to complete projects.
Skills: Java, OOD, JSP, JDBC, JDOM, some HTML/CSS/Javascript;
Education: M.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
Job Requirements:
+ Demonstrated ability to take ownership of multiple projects in a fast paced environment and to deliver tasks on time;
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience as a java developer in a corporate environment;
+ Must be highly proficient in Java and have some experience in related web server technologies, including: jdbc, mysql, XML/Jdom, jsp, tomcat, apache, linux, html/css/javascript;
+ Must be articulate, able to work with others well, and eager to participate in a fast-paced design and development environment.
Additional Qualifications:
+ Experience with the development of text search engines;
+ Experience with content aggregation, and data normalization;
+ Experience with spidering and extraction of information from webpages;
+ Project planning experience.
