This position is open inside the Infrastructure Support Department, responsible with providing specialist support to a number of our customers.
The Middleware Support Team delivers in and out of hours support to customers on Production Support, Application Integration, Integration Engineering, and Code Management for Services Oriented applications.

Role and Responsabilities:

Ownership of support calls within the Event Management Tool;
Provide regular updates to both the customer and the Service Desk of open events;
Ensure effective and rapid response to Major Incidents;
Setup and chair support conference calls between the customer and the vendor as required;
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to the role;
Daily / Weekly / Monthly health checks and monitoring on a 24×7 basis of middleware platforms to ensure services with minimum downtime (webMethods, webSphereMQ, Business Objects);
Administer Reporting Services reports and servers;
Manage middleware platforms security, performance and parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users and to ensure availability;
Refine and analyse the physical and logical design of the platforms to meet system storage and availability requirements;
Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the in-Country Data Protection Act;
Independently write, debug and test code from specifications using webSphereMQ/webMethods tools and other tools as appropriate;
Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans;
Communicate regularly with technical, development and operational staff to ensure platform integrity, performance and security;
Providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management;
Troubleshooting and problem solving of middleware platforms: WebSphereMQ, webMethods, Business Objects;
Improvement and maintenance of middleware platforms to include rollout and upgrades;
Implementation and release of middleware platform changes according to agreed timescales.

Minimum 2 years experience with webMethods Integration and webMethods products (6.x / 7.x / 8.x): Integration Server, Developer, Broker, Designer, Modeller, TN, MWS, Deployer;
Experience with webMethods Adapters: SAP, jdbc, WebService producer, WebService consumer, Broker, flat file, http, https, ftp, smtp, java client, stored procedures, java application server, JSP;
Strong understanding of e-commerce and web integration principles, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), middleware, or other integration experience at the Enterprise level;
Experience developing Web Services and an understanding of Service-oriented Architecture (SOA);
Gain and/or augment working knowledge of webSphereMQ/webMethods tools and techniques;
Good experience in IS, adapters, XML, Flat files and TN;
Good experience in Java development and troubleshooting, including, but not limited to: J2SE, J2EE, JMS, JAXB, JUnit, Eclipse, NetBeans;
Good experience in ERP support, including, but not limited to: SAP ECC6 (SD), IDOCs, ALE, RFC, ABAP;
Ability to debug issues in webMethod code;
Experience in basic Oracle SQL commands;
Experience in UNIX and Windows operating system;
Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on projects.
