RESPONSABILITATI

* Integrated with the Research team, you will be working on our ongoing research projects.
* One of them, called Compatible ONE, aims at developing an open cloud infrastructure that provides all the services of a classic cloud stack (i.e., Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) layers). These services should provide a certain degree of compatibility with existing cloud platform APIs, like Google AppEngine or Amazon Cloud Services. The role of XWiki in this project is to participate in the development of the components for these layers, and to provide a version of XWiki that can be deployed on the Compatible ONE platform.
* Your mission is to analyse the problems at the system level, the code infrastructure and its middleware components and also to hack XWiki in its core components for adapting it to the Compatible ONE platform.


CERINTE

Technical requirements:
* Strong knowledge of Java
* Good knowledge of design patterns
* Experience with modern software development infrastructure tools (maven, git/svn, jira...)
* Database knowledge (experience with MySql for example) is a plus; ORM/hibernate is even better
* Knowledge of at least one server-side scripting language (velocity, groovy, ruby, smarty,...) is also a plus
* Experience with cloud development is a strong plus

Other expected skills:
* You have at least 2 years of experience in Java development
* You're interested in "cloud computing" topics and like to hack things behind the curtains
* Your oral and written English skills allow a fluent communication with the international team
* You're a team player looking forward to work on research projects
* You're self motivated and eager to learn fast about pretty much anything we throw at you
* You know how to deliver on time - but you're not afraid to tell your manager when you're running late


BENEFICII OFERITE

* This position can be either part time (30 hours per week), either full time (40 hours per week)
* XWiki is an international company, you will work in a tight collaboration with our teams in Iasi and Paris
* You will have the opportunity to participate to the improvement and evolution of our Open Source technology and products

The XWiki project offers both a generic platform for developing collaborative applications using the wiki paradigm and products developed on top of it. All XWiki software is developed in Java and under the LGPL open source license.
