RESPONSABILITATI

To assist with the ongoing support and development of the core Nimsoft monitoring and reporting systems. The role will involve close liaison with both support and service delivery teams on a day to day basis. There may also be a requirement to provide Customer facing sales support.



Provide onsite support of the monitoring environment. Assist support teams with investigation into issues reported on Customer servers. Provide adhoc reports and assistance with the Unified Monitoring Portal to support teams, Service Delivery Managers and management.

Maintain the monitoring environment on a day to day basis.
Assist with new Customer implementations by configuring the monitoring components.
Develop and maintain application specific monitoring utilities.
Test upgrades to the monitoring environment in a controlled manner.
Provide comprehensive technical and procedural advice and guidance to team members, other Company domains and customers as required.
Identify opportunities for monitoring changes that improve customer service and/or create competitive advantage.
Help resolve issues affecting the monitoring infrastructure including performance, process and service issues.


CERINTE

Competence / Knowledge / Skills required

Knowledge of IT infrastructures and architectures covering more than one of the following platforms: Intel servers, midrange, storage, security, networks and virtualization.
Demonstrable ability to identify, analyse and solve problems in a logical and effective way, including root cause analysis and identification, data analysis interpretation and decision-making processes.
Willing to work outside of normal office hours, as the job demands.
Enthusiastic, energetic and self motivated with good time management skills and evidence of tenacity and ability to achieve challenging objectives.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including oral, written, presentation and the ability to successfully influence others.
Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage effectively your own workload and work with minimum supervision.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to colleagues and customers.



The following minimum levels of experience must be considered when evaluating competency, knowledge & skills required:



Minimum mandatory experience:

Infrastructure monitoring experience; a clear understanding of alert monitoring
experience of working with Windows servers (2003/2008 Enterprise).
experience of working with Unix (either AIX or Linux).
Indepth knowledge of at least one of the following: Hardware, OS, Databases, Messaging, Network, Virtualization.

Desirable experience:

experience of Nimsoft Monitoring and Nimsoft Unified Monitoring Portal.
Knowledge of Nimsoft Unified Reporting or Crystal Reports.
Experience of working in a service delivery environment.
Experience of Remedy, Netcool and SevOne.
experience in script writing skills (Perl, shell, LUA, etc).
