The role of the User Interface Designer will be to ensure that VoiceWeb’s products and solutions (including Speech, Smartphone and Video Applications) meet business needs while providing an unparalleled customer experience.
A User Interface Designer creates adaptive interfaces for state-of-the-art, solutions. This creative team member gathers and interprets requirements to identify appropriate technologies and features, develop a logical and adaptive application flow, specify system logic, write natural and conversational system prompts, and anticipate user responses. A designer helps create the personality of an application. The designer communicates the design with sample prototypes and creates a detailed design specification document that directs application development. The UI designer also plays an integral part in some aspects of application testing and tuning.
Knowledge Areas:
A User Interface Designer must have knowledge and skills in the following areas: Writing and Communication, Human Factors Engineering, User Interface Design and Usability testing, Speech Recognition, Data Analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
• Represent the users' point of view in requirements analysis
• Establish design objectives and constraints
• Prepare application prototypes
• Create directed dialog and natural language call flows
• Write detailed dialog design specifications
• Incorporate usability and usage data to refine design
• Develop User Interface Specifications and Guidelines
• Conduct evaluations on existing products
• Design call flows, including associated prompts and grammars
• Generate personas and use scenarios
• Set conceptual design and suggest product direction based on field research and functional requirements
• Identify and define requirements for new capabilities that are required in the company application platform
• Maintain and apply consistent standards to IVR, video and smartphone apps designs including common IVR structure and vocabulary
• Manage and analyze Usability Testing
• Work closely with (local and remote) software developers to implement and deliver the final product
• Facilitate project communication across a multidisciplinary team throughout all phases of the project
Desired Skills & Experience
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in one or a combination of the following fields: Computer Science, Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Science.
• 2+ years of experience designing user interfaces for applications. Experience in speech user interface design or mobile application UI design will be considered an asset.
• Experience with usability testing
• Understanding of industry best practices, including key decision factors and tradeoffs
• Native speaker: Romanian
• Fluency in English
• Knowledge of more languages will be considered a plus.
• Travel up to 35%
• The position is based in Athens (Greece), or can be home-based (remote)
