Establish proof of safety for vehicles and trains;
Support and execute the approval process;
Identify and analyze safety issues, develop solution approaches and track safety issues on operating vehicles;
Ensure consistency of the proposed design with, and incorporation of, customer requirements and other identified requirements;
Organize, coordinate and perform design reviews;
Mitigate the technical risk;
Identify critical design areas based on lessons learned;
In conjunction with System Engineering, supervise suppliers and validate supplier documentation and designs for fulfillment of safety requirements;
Participate in tests and trials.
University-level degree in rail vehicle engineering, engineering or related field;
3-5 years professional experience in rail vehicle engineering;
Knowledge of relevant standards, in particular IEC 61508 (EN 5012x, EN 50159);
Ability for complex thinking, strong sense of responsibility, creative thinking, organizational talent, initiative, reliability, flexibility, ability to work in a team, power of persuasion, ability to handle conflict;
Knowledge of FMEA and MTBF approval requirements;
Excellent command of the English language, willingness to learn German
