Genesus is a German company that is at the top in Europe in pig genetics. The step of the Belgian investors East Germany in 1996 was made for the sake of decisive reasons: scale, community feed legislation and raw materials, in other words the possibility of efficient swine production. Today Genesus has around 15.000 pigs in farms and Genesus produces the food and energy needed for the exploitation of the farms.
The job:
Genesus is looking for “trainees” people under 35 years to train them in a period of 20-24 months in order to ensure the further expansion of the Genesus group. For this reason a partner created a Romanian company in Buzau , province of Buzau to prepare the entry in the Romanian market. The trainees would reside in Germany during a period of 20-24 months in order to learn the business processes and operations with a hands on approach in the stables.
Educational level & Qualifications:
• BSc in Animal Science, Agricultural Business, veterinarian or related degree desirable.
• Minimum of 2 – 3 years experience in pig production or cattle production
• Excellent husbandry skills and Knowledge of Health Programme.
• Good communication (verbal/written), interpersonal and computer skills are required.
• A team oriented person is paramount to the success of these roles.
• Experience with Start-Up facilities desirable.
• Age: we accept trainees under 35 years
• Language skills: German or French or English – fluent speakers – preliminary selection and the interviews will be in German /English or French
• The candidate should be fit, energetic, and resilient
Training program & responsibilities:
• Managing the smooth operation of breeding, gestation and finishing units which includes feed and health management and co-ordination of animal flows.
• Hands on approach in the pig stables and farm yard.
• Bio-security controls and procedures.
• Record keeping.
• Implement technical protocols.
• Maintain inventory and shipment planning.
• Regular and routine communication with the project leader responsible for the trainees
• Daily operational procedures in a larger pig farm.
• Relevant experience in the field is an asset.
