Job Overview:
The position is open to experienced individuals willing to join our team of Service Engineers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We will be looking for someone who is currently confident to take (after some training) servicing roles on marine existing equipment (deck cranes, cargo elevators, stern ramps, side ramps, hatch covers, cargo control valves on tankers) as well as technical assistance roles during major repairs, conversions and modernizations onboard ships. You will be covering the ports and shipyards in the Middle East as well as, occasionally, the Indian Subcontinent, Africa, China, Europe as the need arises.
Our requirements
- University Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering;
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, but the position is available for fresh graduates as well, since our Service Academy is taking shape and taking care of the permanent improvement of our Service force;
- Good understanding of and experience with steel construction, hydraulic components and circuits, electrical components and circuits, understanding and troubleshooting of (analog / digital) electronic circuits will be a definite advantage, conversant with standards and circuit diagrams;
- Good command of English language, written and spoken;
- Good IT skills;
- Able to work under pressure, make decisions and work independently;
- Comfortable communicating with clients of various qualifications and culture, since the position involves working in a multi-cultural environment;
- Proactive, willing to learn and develop new skills to meet business needs;
- Passport and driving license;
- Physically fit to undertake open field work, work in confined spaces, work requiring access through inspection manholes, or work at significant height, sometimes in hot weather conditions.
