A leading international electro-mechanical contracting joint venture working on a prestigious mall project in Dubai is seeking a Cost Engineer to head up its site project controls team. Ideally aged 35 to 45, you will have at least 10 years experience on large scale electro-mechanical contracts with a value in excess of US$ 100 Million, your main tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
(i) Performing complex Cost Controls activities and/or supervising the preparation of Cost Controls activities for the project.
(ii) Develop Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work defined by the contract.
(iii) Develops totally integrated EPC schedules/cost control programs.
(iv) Recommend solutions or recovery plans to schedule/cost impact or delays.
(v) Develops and analyzes the Project Income Statement and prepares the Sensitivity Analysis for management.
(vi) Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, and communicates the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management.
(vii) Coordinates estimate development with the Project Estimator.
(viii) Provides Status of Reserves and Contingencies.
(ix) Coordinates the review of Project Profit/Risk Analysis with management and provides status reporting.
(x) Possesses practical experience in the use of the automated cost management systems.
(xi) Serves as Cost Team Leader and provides direct supervision to a small team of Project Cost personnel.
BSc in Quantity Surveying/Electrical/Mechanical engineering from an accredited university. MRICS or equivalent.
A least 10 years experience on large-scale electro-mechanical contracts with a value in excess of US$ 100 Million, ideally with a minimum of 3 years experience in the Middle East (preferably Dubai). Experience with ICE/FIDIC forms of contract and subcontract. Experience with dealing with cost and contractual matters at a site and executive level. Computer literate (MS Office & preferably Primavera P3). Excellent command of spoken and written English. Current driving licence.
