Lead Oil & Gas Process Engineer
Responsible for carrying out all necessary process design functions required for concept development, FEED, and detail engineering to design and/or specify process equipment for upstream oil and gas production facilities. Onshore central processing facilities and offshore topside production facilities (such as fixed structure platform, semi-submersible, and FPSO) may include crude oil separation/stabilization and treating facilities, gas dehydration and compression facilities, produced water treatment and water flood, gas treatment (including dewpoint control and sweetening), gas processing (NGL / LPG extraction), and/or pipelines.
The Lead Process Engineer is capable of leading work on small to medium size projects or areas within larger projects. Must be conversant with industry applicable standard design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.). Has administrative and technical responsibility for engineering and economic studies. Interprets production well data and product specs to prepare process designs and specifications of onsite, offsite, and utility systems. Develops equipment and instrument data sheets, including those for relief system and flare network, chemical injection systems, etc. Responsible for leading other engineers to develop heat and material balances, utility balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), system design parameters, and design or rating of equipment such as vessels, towers, exchangers, pumps, etc. Responsibility includes the development of process simulation models and advanced controls/process optimization for part or units of the total plant using programs such as Hysys, and/or PRO-II. He or she will be called upon to provide technical guidance on complex issues requiring independent analysis or judgment.
