A major UAE based International Contracting Company is seeking to appoint several Contract Engineers/Quantity Surveyors (degree qualified) for its well established multi-disciplinary construction division. These appointments will suit individuals with a positive attitude and outstanding communication skills, high standards, accuracy and commercial acumen.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Sub-contractor / supplier procurement;
Preparation and submission of Interim Payment Applications;
Advising the Project Manager on the commercial and contractual implications events, circumstances, methods of construction and variations;
Identifying, evaluating and agreeing variations with the Engineer;
Preparation of contractual notices and evaluation of financial entitlements;
Co-ordination of monthly cost & value reconciliation statements and quarterly forecast reports;
Organisation, management and training of junior commercial staff.
The ideal candidates will be:
Self-motivated with a building or civil engineering background;
Have a proven track record in the construction industry with at least 8 to 10 years relevant experience some of which should have been spent in the Middle East;Competent and experienced in the use of standard Conditions of Contract (FIDIC) and Methods of Measurement (CESMM, POMI, etc.), able to administer non-standard forms;
Seeking new challenges and the opportunity to progress their career.
