Value Engineer with experience from the wind power industry
Key responsibilities:

Interactions & responsibilities:
Value Engineering working in projects conducting below activities:
• Benchmarking
• Design to cost
• Best practice cost
• Prototypes
• Cost change management
Deliverables:
• Determine cost of functionality and cost per product platform, including blades, hubs, nacelles and towers
• Ensure cost optimisation during the development phase with the target to reduce and avoid costs in the final product
• Best-in-class costs over lifetime (COE) for technical solutions, roadmaps and design
• Project management on sub project
• Delivery according to time, quality and cost
Competences:
• Masters or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience with speciality within:
. Production processes (casting, welding, bending, laser cutting, moulding, assembly)
. Logistic processes (procurement, transportation, installation, service)
. Product understanding (functions, modules and systems of turbines)
. Material knowledge (metals, FRP – fibre-reinforced-polymer, electrics, electronics)
• 5+ years of experience from a similar position within the wind power industry
• Proven experience in relation to abovementioned processes and materials
• 3-5 years cost experience, preferably from a global company e.g. from production planning, production engineering (DFMEA) or VAVE (value analysis value engineering)
• Cost expertise – experienced in cost calculation and technical cost
• Cost management in relation to products, logistics and maintenance
• Analytical skills – detailed analysis of technical documentation and detailed bottom-up calculation as well as detailed project planning and follow up
• Consulting skills – workshop moderation, presentation, supplier dialogue, project management/coordination as well as creativity: “out-of-the-box” thinking, with the ability to translate
• Fluent in English – verbally and written
