On behalf of our clients within the wind power industry we are continuously looking for highly skilled consultants with experience from the wind power industry.
Composite Design Engineer with experience from the wind power industry
Key responsibilities:
• Structural design of blades, part blades or composite structures using composite materials
• Design of manufacturing processes of composite materials
• Development of composites for tooling technology and prototyping
Interactions & responsibilities:
• Provide calculations and verification of design solutions proposed
• Liaise with FEA Department for calculations of design proposals
• Support resolution of production and/or in-field blade structure issues
• Create and manage the use of DFMEAs and other tools to drive robust and efficient
Deliverables:
• Requirement specifications
• Test specifications
• Documentation and reports for product certification and sign-off
Competences:
• Masters or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience
• 5+ years of experience from a similar position within the wind power industry
• Solid theoretical background within structural mechanics as well as understanding of composite product design and process design
• Good working knowledge of finite element techniques
• Excellent analytical skills and understanding of structural design principles
• Broad overview of modern composite failure prediction methods
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, preferably ProEngineer
• Experience with 6-Sigma and DFSS methodologies
• Rigorous attention to detail/finishing-off jobs, team worker, self-starter and willingness to learn
• Fluent in English – verbally and written
