RESPONSABILITATI

Cummins Romania is looking for a Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer to join their Purchasing Department. Reporting to the site SQI Leader in Romania, the job holder will be responsible for Value Package Introduction (VPI) projects. Coaching suppliers in APQP techniques and quality tools to support the Cummins VPI/VPC. Process ensuring that supplier’s products are delivered to the agreed specifications within the project lifecycle. Working in partnership with the commodity managers and make sure VPI management in line with sourcing strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Select suppliers for VPI in line with global sourcing strategy.
• Ensuring that suppliers are aware of and meet Cummins standards and expectations, supporting Cummins VPI programmes.
• Support New Supplier Assessments and develop new suppliers to support VPI project if need.
• Use APQP/PPAP as key vehicle to develop new parts at supply base.
• Deliver and manage supplier APQP activities at defined gateways and within clearly defined timescales to support a successful new product /new supplier introduction.
• Lead Corrective Actions within the supply chain to ensure strong containment/successful root cause analysis and subsequent corrective and preventative actions are established.
• Develop and lead proactive supplier quality improvement plans to achieve VPI project and customer expectation.
• Use 7-step Cummins process to fix the quality issues during new product developing.
• Make sure the new product quality achieve target and stabilized before handed over to commodity team.
• Keep close eye on latest technologies in the market, to support CGT’s VPI.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in an engineering or quality discipline or relevant experience

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• ISO900:2000/TS16949 Lead Auditor
• Thorough Knowledge and practical experience of AIAG Quality Tools and APQP toolkit
• Six Sigma Green Belt – Desirable
• Lean Manufacturing Experience – Desirable
• Project Management Experience – Desirable
• Product/Process Knowledge of Machining/Casting/Electronics/Assembly/Plastics and Metal Forming Desirable
•Attention to details, communicative, creative and open to change
•Negotiation skill and assertiveness
•Fluency in English
