Cummins in Romania have an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer. Working in this role you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving quality systems using Control Plan, Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and other quality methodologies and tools.
This key role is reporting directly to the Quality Manager in Craiova.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assisting the Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system
• Implementing improvements to enhance the quality system such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods etc
• Working closely with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
• Cooperating with Design and Engineering Departments to ensure product modifications are in line with approved methodology
• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
• Developing training to build quality awareness
• Participating in regular Customer meetings and presenting modifications and status updates
• Supporting the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the requirements of the quality management system
• Analysing failures, and driving corrective and preventative action to respond to customer complaints
• Planning, organising and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions
• Managing suppliers’ performance and conducting audits
• Preparing Quality reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors in Engineering or Business or equivalent by experience.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Strong experience in electrics or manufacturing environment
• Broad experience in Quality
• Experience in quality methodologies like PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP.
• Experience in data analysis - SPC, CPk, etc
• ISO/TS quality system knowledge
• Six Sigma certification or tools id preferred
• Romanian language and good English skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with own initiative
