Product development engineer for manufacturing launch / system area leader (vehicle prototype) - CHASSIS INTEGRATION, BODY STRUCTURES, BODY EXTERIOR, CLOOSURES.
Main Activities/Tasks:
• To plan, control, direct and execute component and system engineering development
• To provide core technical expertise for specific systems across the range of current projects.
• To provide leadership and task management for engineers and CAD designers engaged
Skills and Experience
• Around 3-4 years experience as a product engineer
• Comprehensive vehicle or system technology knowledge suitable for accepting system responsibility with minimal technical supervision
• Experienced with product development techniques such as risk management, product validation, CAD development, tolerance, cost & weight optimization, bill of material development, product target and specification setting
• Experienced in engineering project management techniques such as critical path analysis, project gateway reviews, project reporting, supplier work scope definition etc.
• Good collaboration skills working as part of a wider project to optimize vehicle performance
• Ability to understand the engineering mechanisms behind component performance (Root Cause Analysis)
• Ability to provide task leadership to engineers and CAD designers within their specific area; this includes both verbal and written communication and motivational skills
• Conversant with PC Office and database technology along with an overview of CAD and CAE simulation techniques
• Good personal responsibility and organization
• Desire for learning and continuous development
