Cummins Romania is looking for experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Research and Development department. In this role you would be responsible for providing mechanical design capability, supporting new product design and product development. You will be also pursuing Research and Development (R&D) programmes and advancement of new machine topologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creating mechanical design solutions in line with project requirements and deliverable
• Identifying, analysing and solving design challenges to provide innovative, cost effective design solutions
• Liaising on modifications as necessary with all areas of the Engineering Department during the design phase
• Production of ongoing modifications to machine design as needed, to improve safety, performance, cost effectiveness, reliability, ease of manufacture etc.
• Liaising with Material Control and Suppliers on specification and availability of materials
• Keeping abreast with the latest technologies for EM design;
• Providing technical information to all internal functions and customers as required
• Dealing with technical enquiries from all internal and external sources as well as visiting customers to give support;
• Analysing competitors’ products and compiling relevant technical reports;
• Interpreting and applying relevant National and International standards for Design and Quality Assurance
• Carrying out duties in line with the Company Quality Policy Statement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Proficient use of ProEngineer, ProMechanica
• Knowledge of ANSYS software
• Mechanical design skills
• Analytical skills
• Very high computer literacy
• Chartered Engineer (or leading to)
• Proficient Technical English skills
• FE Analysis/Calculations
• High attention to details
• Communication and people skills
