RESPONSABILITATI

The Manufacturing Engineering Department of Cummins in Craiova - Romania have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Reporting to the Plant Manager in Craiova you will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of lean manufacturing processes across the whole site. You will also be responsible for the development and execution of the Facility Master plan which includes ensuring that the physical facility is maintained and that the environment is both safe and complies to environmental standards as well as ensuring that the facility is configured to support the Business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes which deliver lean production principles within the site.
• Develop site capacity plans which allow for stepped increases and decreases in output – known line balances and man assignments.
• Development of processes to reduce standard minutes and thus decrease cost to produce.
• Development and implementation of processes to improve productivity of the site.
• Ensure operating processes are capable of delivering customer requirements.
• Development of visual management systems to control operations especially bottleneck processes.
• Deliver TPM processes and multi-skilled maintenance personnel to support 100% machine availability.
• Own the process - method documentation and the standard operating procedures must drive the right, Quality, productivity and safety levels.
• Develop and maintain capacity models for the site – based upon facilities constraints.
• Lead the development of the Facility master Plan – to include development of effective layout and the action plan to create the right environment
• Ensure annual programme of facility work is incorporated into Annual Operation proces
• Set and manage departmental budgets including facilities, maintenance and manufacturing engineering.
• Create forecast of capital spend monthly and ensure capital is spent to plan.
• Lead and promote functional, company and industry standards for Maintenance and manufacturing Engineering.
• Provide information and support to promote other functions to operate efficiently to the benefit of the customer and company
• Support Value Package Introduction to ensure it is timely and satisfactory
• Lead projects from estimating and budgeting through commissioning and validation
• Leadership and motivation of the team
• Set high standards of personal & departmental effectiveness


CERINTE

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree in technical studies

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Proven track record of experience of leading in a manufacturing/operations environment
• Strong production engineering/manufacturing engineering background
• Experience of sequential flow operations and lean manufacturing
• Fluent in English
• PC Operation skills
• Communicative, creative and open to change, attention to details
