Cummins Romania is looking for a Commodity Buyer to join their Purchasing department. In this challenging role you will have the responsibility for the supply base of your own suppliers with regards to supplier capacity, capability, securing quality, business development, communications and price negotiations. You will report directly to the Purchase Manager also based in Craiova.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the supply base of own suppliers but also cover in the absence of other Supply Leaders
• Assume control of all purchasing activities in absence of Purchasing Manager
• Commercial negotiations with suppliers including contractual agreements and supply logistics
• Identifying and developing new suppliers in accordance of quality, price and delivery time
• Responsible for identifying and carrying out future business development plans with suppliers
• Review with suppliers Annual Operating Plan volume for current and future capacity
• Accomplish supplier assessments and audits
• Compile and analyze requests for quotations
• Purchasing data controlling, providing of operation figures when requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering degree and/or Commercial degree or extensive purchasing experience in a global environment in an appropriate field of purchasing/materials.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Proven track record of working experience within a Purchasing Department
• Ability to manage suppliers from conception to becoming an accepted supplier including daily management
• Experience in working within the industries of various commodities like: Steel (both domestic and Electrical), Castings (grey and aluminium), Enamelled Copper wire, Sheet steel, Plastics, Resins, Insulation material, Paint and hardware.
• Experience of working with suppliers who manufacture Fabrications, Laminations, Moulding, Machining, Assembly, Painting, winding and Impregnation.
• Experience with running projects, Six Sigma, Improvement projects, price negotiations, contractual agreements
• Excellent English Skills
• Computer literate
