This position is based in West Africa.
The Fabrication Manager reports to the General Manager, and cooperates closely with the Tender and Engineering Departments.
The Fabrication Manager is the Manager of the Fabrication Shop, for the West African Operations of the company. This entails the following responsibilities:
- Managing, coaching as well as operational involvement with a team of in average 15 dedicated multi-national welding and fabrication workers. The size of the team varies with the workload.
- Prepare and advise on quotations, and provide technical solutions and advise on work/project opportunities to the Tender Department.
- Ensure efficient and timely conclusion of all fabrication projects, as well as optimizing all fabrication processes. Advise on inventory of raw materials to the Stores Management.
- Monitor QA/QC and ensure that all relevant procedures are implemented, and maintained. This should result in complete documentation of all jobs in progress/done.
- Maintain and adapt operational procedures, and monitor and report productivity.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Has a Master or Bachelor degree and considerable years of proven management experience in off shore steel construction and fabrication.
- Is a strong and hands on administrator with an operational mindset and a no nonsense approach. Somebody who can set up procedures and able to ensure a tight follow up of his people and their work. Next to that, a confident coach with in depth experience with all facets of welding and QA/QC.
- Shows leadership, stamina, enthusiasm, team spirit and drive for excellence. Somebody with the autonomy and reliance to cope with this challenge in a financially healthy and expanding business. Above all someone with impeccable character and track record.
- Is self-motivated, can work independently and is able to efficiently manage time to complete the projects.
- Speaks extremely fluent English and preferably Dutch. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
Atractive Salary.
Rotation of 3/1 month. Paid leave.
