Job Objective

The Customer Development Executive for Indirect Trade reports to the Customer Development Manager for Indirect Trade and has supervisory responsibilities of third parties (merchandisers, promoters).He/She will provide full support to Distributor’s sales force mainly through field coaching and feedback and developing in-store activities in Distributor’s customers (local key accounts).

The primary role is to secure maximum sales, distribution, merchandising and promotions of the Company products in the assigned sales area in accordance with established sales policies, sales programs and service levels, within the limits of the sales budget. He/she is responsible for achieving in his/her territory the sales and merchandising objectives for all customers’ lines.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Customer Development Executive for Indirect Trade is responsible for the effective deployment of selling efforts, distribution activities in the assigned sales area and for maximizing sales in LKA.
The Customer Development Executive for Indirect Trade is expected to focus on the following:

1. Will spend most of his/her working time to visit the trade and top 20% customers in the assigned area (retail/ wholesale) that make about 80% of the Distributor’s business, in a efficient and effective way, in a regular an consistent manner ,based on approved routing.

2. He/She initiates and maintains strong partnership with Distributor’s sales team, supervising the team and provide full support to the team in order to continuing sales relationship with approved clients(local key accounts)

3. Will have full coaching responsibilities of third party employee ( merchandising/promoters team) for indirect trade, at the local level ( training, coaching, monitoring approved weekly routing, setting objectives regarding plan-o-grams, shelving, POP materials usage for specific LKA and in-store activity, handling in positive manners all administrative issues, e.g.)

4. Will fully implement 5P’s compliance for strategic RE for LKA. for all products in accordance with Company establish policies

5. Assist Distributor’s sales team in each LKA in the maintenance of the optimum inventory levels of the products making recommendations for order quantities that fit each account.

6. Will have full administrative responsibilities for Brand Development Found (BDF) budget management at the local level in order to maximize sales in LKA. This will include but will not be limited to: promo-plan proposal that fit each customer based on pay for performance principle, monitoring the process and evaluating the progress.

7. Will have full administrative responsibilities for POP materials(distribution, monitoring and tracking)

8. Develops accurate knowledge of buying and selling methods and practices of each client in the territory in order to tailor individual sales approaches for each client and to document these.

9. Handles the quality problems that arise in the field with his/hers Distributor and clients/chain/outlet, in a fair and equitable manner to both customer and Distributor, according to specific CP policies.

10. Encourages clients to advertise and promote the products in order to increase effectiveness of the Company advertising program at local level, works, together with Distributor’s sales team, with clients and store-managers in setting up ads and promotions to take full advantage of the Company ad allowances, seasonal special.

11. Provides information from the trade on competitive products and practices (new products, shelve-pricing, promotions activity).

12. Fills in regularly and with accuracy and submits in due time all required forms and reports.

Education and Experience Required

-University graduated
-At least 2-year sales experience, preferably with fast moving consumer goods company.
