Due to the re-organizing of the Purchasing Department, we are looking for the following position:
Purchasing Manager
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for a small but growing team, who will collectively manage the purchase of raw material, electrical / mechanical components.
Specific duties include:
-Manage suppliers, cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Identify, select and develop new suppliers for current and future business demand
- Place orders directly to suppliers (including follow-up)
- Establish the material to be used for production orders, find valid alternatives (where necessary) and make bills of material (for regular customer parts and assemblies)
- 5 years experience in purchasing and manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and experience of MRP / ERP systems
- Good command of English (speaking and writing) – is a must
- German (speaking and writing) – is a plus
- “hands on” mentality
The ideal candidate will be from a technical background (preferably degree in mechanical engineering). You will have a thorough knowledge of project procurement and the commercial awareness to drive for cost savings and continuous improvement. Your purchasing skills should be honed to a high level of skill including negotiation, contract knowledge, supplier sourcing and selection, and supplier management.
As a member of our management team you will be expected to work additional hours when your role requires it in order to ensure your department functions in line with the business needs.
