The Senior IT Architect (SIA) is responsible for the server, system and service architecture. He defines the overall architecture and supports the technical leads and all engineers with responsibility for architecture in designing the proper architecture within their SW areas.
Within the scope of modern, scalable, extensible and portable system architecture, he/she carries out the following tasks independently:
•Definition, development and documentation of the vertical SW architecture. As the technical leads are responsible of the horizontal architecture, also with looking to the interfaces to the next higher or lower layer, the SIA has to have the view on the overall architecture from the highest layer to the lowest.
•Responsibility for the company’s web server farm and the published and dependant services
•Documentation and optimization of the server and service interactions including their dependencies
•Permanent review of the SW architecture and the underlying physical and virtual HW server architecture
•Close interaction with the QC department for ensuring testability of the system
•Definition, optimization and documentation of a smooth software deployment process
•Regular training of the R&D staff on the architecture principles
Technical requirements:
•Expert of the Linux OS as well as network and web services and applications, e.g. Apache and Tomcat
•Proven SW architecture and design experience on all SW layers
•Experience in using OO principles and UML
•Proven experience in server HW architecture and virtualization concepts
•Substantiated knowledge of methods and means for establishing and extension of System architecture
Personal qualifications:
•5+ years professional experience with 3 years in server application system architecture
•Proven project management skills
•Plans and executes all tasks independently and conscientiously
•Target-oriented, analytical approach
•Fluent in English
•Excellent communication skills
