Position Purpose:
We are looking for a dedicated, self motivated, highly skilled Quality Assurance professional to join our team of engineers building high-end and highly scalable applications.
Successful candidates should have a solid Quality Assurance background, with proven technical and problem solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Line management of a team of functional, automation and performance QA engineers
• Direct the recruitment of QA engineers into the team
• Set and review quarterly objectives and conduct annual reviews
• Participate in the QA community to coordinate, standardize and improve QA practices
• Participate in multiple concurrent projects, offering Quality Assurance services across a number of projects
• Support the QA team providing an escalation point for software quality issues
• Work with the Project Manager, Product Manager and Development Lead to define release schedules and project scope based on estimates
• Drive automation testing and the alignment of this with the core functional test suite to improve the quality of the software
• Support the team in the acceptance testing process for software deliverables, encouraging user acceptance testing and business-focused delivery
• Support the development team in Test Driven Development activities
• QA Delivery lead responsibilities including Quality Assurance signoff of the software
• Ensure the application of proven Quality Assurance techniques
• Develop and maintain test cases, ensuring optimal test suite size for desired coverage
• Develop test plans that adhere to the company’s Quality Assurance Approach
• Maintain regression test pack following software releases
• Document software defects clearly and unambiguously and track these defects through the test lifecycle, until they are resolved or deferred to a later project
• Isolate conditions for recreating problems found in testing and offer assistance with problem resolution through core product knowledge
• Identify opportunities to increase or reduce release scope, in order to ensure projects remain on track for target completion dates
• Assess product usability and reliability and provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to developers and product managers
• Coordinate with customer support, operations and software development staff
• Build a good working climate for the new team
Experience & Qualifications Required:
• 7+ years’ software testing experience with a world-class consumer website or software product
• Desirable 3+ years’ team leading experience
• Experience of managing QA teams on complex software projects
• Proficiency in test case generation techniques: equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis etc
• Experience of different software development methods
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated knowledge
• Knowledge of basic OO programming
• Good commercial experience in writing automated test scripts using Python
• Good commercial experience using Selenium
• Strong SQL
• Poker Knowledge
