As a Quality Assurance Engineer the successful candidate will be involved in the early stages of the software development lifecycle with the Engineering Services Team. Testing will involve mobile devices, server systems, and PC applications. The goal for the person in this position will be to ensure that each delivery to the customer is well defined, accurate and tested. Occasional travel will be required for onsite testing.
Responsibilities
•Test case creation and design
•Test implementation and test execution using industry slandard techniques
•The tasks also include testing deliverables based on the customer variant our all Nokia products like Intellisync Mobile Suite,0vi.com products, Device Management Software and other synchronization and push related products. Tests may be conducted in a "black-box" mode or using automated tools with a wide variety of wireless devices and mall servers. Knowledge of mall servers (Exchange, Domino, and Groupwise) and wireless devices (Palm OS, Windows Mobile, Symbian, J2ME and other smartphones) will be a plus. Also knowledge/experience in automated tools/testing is a requirement.
•Pre-production tests and/or User Acceptance Tests (UAT) using the customer (Operator) network and actual end user use cases and scenarios
•Conduct scalability tests to ensure software can scale to the user volumes
•Design, implement and execute test cases and scenarios based on functional and system specifications and customer input
•Define, design and develop software test systems that continually enhance the testing process.
•Participate in software development and testing process improvement activities.
•Offer clear status on the performed testing activities and actively involve in problem solving.
•Maintain clear and effective communications with Technical Support Engineering Services, Product Management and Development Engineering.
•Create metrics that describe the status of testing & defects
Requirements
•Experience with modern testing methods and techniques
•Experience with automation testing techniques.
•Software testing experience with products to be sold commercially, not limited to internal IT support systems
•Highly motivated self-starter
•BA/BS degree Computer Science or Engineering with high academic performance
•Analytical/problem solving skills
•Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
•Very good English language communication skills
•Knowledge of logging and defect-tracking tools and systems
•Availability to travel outside the country
•Experience using industry standard performance measurement tools such as Load Runner. JMeter and other open source tools is a plus.
•Familiarity, knowledge and understanding of device software, usage, configuration, connectivity and provisioning will be a plus.
