As a QA Engineer the successful candidate will be involved in the early stages of the software product development lifecycle with the Product Management and Development Engineering Teams. The goal for the person in this position will be to ensure that each product specification is accurate and testable. The contribution to the overall execution of Intellisync's software product test plan will help us to produce the quality products that are the foundation of our success. The responsibilities are test design, test implementation and test execution using industry standard techniques as well as Nokia's own proprietary testing tools. The tasks will include test our IMS software with a wide variety of wireless devices and mail servers thus knowledge of mail servers (Exchange, Domino, Groupwise) and wireless devices (Palm OS, Windows Mobile, Symbian, J2ME and other smart phones) will be a plus.
- Design and implement and execute test cases and scenarios based on product functional and system specifications using modern testing techniques including automated tools.
- Define, design and develop software test systems that continually enhance the testing process.
- Participate in software development and testing process improvement activities.
- Offer clear status on the performed testing activities and acatively involve in problem solving.
- Maintain clear and effective communications with Technical Support, Professional Services, Product Management and Development Engineering.
Required Skills:
- Experience with modern testing methods and techniques.
- Software testing experience with products to be sold commercially, not limited to internal IT support systems
- Highly motivated self-starter
- BA/BS degree Computer Science or Engineering with high academic performance
- Analytical/problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Very good English language communication skills
- Any programming skills with Python, C++, Java is highly desirable.
- Experience with automation testing techniques.
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with at least one of the following (mail) servers: Exchange, Active Directory, LDAP, Domino, Groupwise
- Familiarity with the following Operating Systems: Windows Professional and Server, Linux
- Experience testing and using any of the following PDA platforms (Windows Mobile, Symbian OS, Palm OS or J2ME)
