This position is located within the Data Center Automation/Business Technology Optimization (BTO) suite of products in HP Software. You'll be part of a team that designs, develops, tests, and validates industry leading Data Center Automation product.
You will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of key functionalities in the Data Center automation product user interface that manages large, highly distributed environments with thousands of servers. You will work with Product Management, Visual designers, QA and Documentation teams to review requirements, write specifications, design, develop & test functionality in the product.
Innovation and attention to detail is the key as you design and develop major functional enhancements for existing & new features. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently identify, analyze, and solve complex technical problems.
The job will require the applicant to develop commercial rich client applications in a J2EE environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's (undergraduate), Master's (graduate), or Ph.D. (post graduate) degree in a technical discipline (e.g. computer science, information technology, engineering, math, physics, etc.).
Experience and Knowledge
- 3 - 5 years of experience in developing Java applications.
- Hands on development experience with Java Swing.
- Good knowledge of OOP design concepts and design patterns.
- Knowledge and practice of the concepts of a healthy software development process.
- Strong computer science fundamentals.
- Experience with supporting tools (Ant, bug trackers, source control tools).
- Basic experience with Linux (not programming).
- Experience with J2EE is a plus.
