Position Purpose:
We are looking for a dedicated, self-motivated, technically-driven professional to work in a team of engineers developing mobile applications for different mobile platforms (iPhone / Android / BlackBerry).
The successful candidate will have exceptional technical and problem solving skills, with a positive, result-driven attitude.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Development of Betfair’s iPhone and iPad-oriented products, adhering to department standards and guidelines.
• Review product specifications in order to give development estimates and product feedback.
• Thorough, provable unit testing.
• Code reviews, by and for peers.
• Technical documentation that shares knowledge effectively.
Key Working Relationships:
• This position involves working with and being part of a cross-skilled development team, having regular contact with teams responsible for the other aspects of Betfair’s products & tools.
Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications Required:
Essential:
• Familiarity with the iPhone SDK, strong knowledge of Objective-C and Cocoa.
• At least one year of proven experience in developing native iPhone applications. Knowledge of iPhone development and UI guidelines.
• Experience with application provisioning and the AppStore release process.
• Fluent in English both reading and writing.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of at least one well-known image editing software(GIMP, Photoshop) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Java technologies (J2ME, J2EE) is a plus.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with other Mobile technologies (Android, BlackBerry) is a plus
• Understanding of the full development cycle and some experience of Agile development methodologies and supporting tools e.g. JIRA, Confluence
• User Interface Design & Architecture knowledge.
