- Opsware Inc. is seeking to hire a Driver Development Engineer for our Network Automation System (NAS) product to be based in Cluj, Romania. The person who fills this job will be responsible for working with the team of Opsware Engineers in our US-based facilities to develop modules that enable NAS to manage a wide range of networking devices.

Overall Job Requirements:
- Design, implement, unit-test, maintain and document software for configuration of network devices;
- Support our user base (debug issues, develop drivers for support of new devices, provide patches);
- Design and develop robust, scalable, high-quality software;
- Work with Program Management, QA and Technical Support during the entire product lifecycle.
Ideal Candidate Background:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering;
- Demonstrable experience writing scripts using Perl & Expect programming languages;
- Experience configuring routers, switches, firewalls and other networking equipment from a variety of vendors, including Cisco, Nortel, Juniper, Extreme, Foundry, Checkpoint;
- Good background in networking (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, AAA, Syslog, TFTP, QoS, Ethernet, SNMP, HSRP, VRRP, Access Lists);
- Highly reliable self-starter; can-do attitude, able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- (Desirable) Experience with Solaris, Linux, Windows systems administration; experience using and configuring network management tools (e.g. HP Open View, CiscoWorks, etc.);
- Knowledge of CLI and other forms of configuration of network elements;
- Knowledge of Java/C programming languages.
