Position Purpose:

A key element of the company’s success has been its ability to run a state-of-the-art real-time Oracle data warehouse enabling the business to access near-time high transactional data to support key functional and operational areas.
This is a Technical Lead role for the Data Warehouse support/development team based in Cluj. We are looking for a candidate with the capability to drive the expansion of the existing team from 2 to 6/7, take the appropriate steps to reduce the support effort to a minimum and become an effective agile delivery team within the Data Warehouse.
They will need excellent technical and problem solving skills and a positive, results driven attitude.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Task management, allocation and delivery
• Technical leadership of a growing team
• Take the lead and act as local technical authority for data warehousing
• Develop team into an effective agile development operation.
• Specification/Creation/Support of high performance SQL and PL/SQL and in-depth tuning of both.
• Identification and Specification of software to automate support procedures and minimise support effort.
• Design and engineer defect fixes, feature and performance improvements, adhering to and feeding back into departmental standards and guidelines.
• Participate in an out of office hours on-call rota for the data warehouse
• Produce statistics on support issues

Experience & Qualifications Required:
Essential
• Proven track record of leading and managing development teams on complex software projects
• Extensive Experience in writing advanced SQL, PL/SQL in Oracle 10g
• Experience of database performance analysis and design
• Experience of working on UNIX Shell scripts
Desirable
• Good understanding of Data warehousing concepts, processes/techniques and technologies
• Experience of working in ETL/Data warehousing environments
• Experience of Agile development practices
• Experience of working in Oracle RAC environment
• Experience of Oracle administration, space management, partitioning, utilities
• Experience of working on client tools - PL/SQL Developer
• Oracle certifications
• Experience of replication technologies
• Experience of MS Analysis services 2008
• Experience of defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)
• Experience within 24/7, high volume transaction and/or financial services (e.g. banks, stock exchanges, teleco) systems
• Experience with customer centric industries and mission critical quality software standards
• Knowledge of the gaming industry and an interest in sports
• Educated to degree level in a science or technology related field
