We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Automation QA Engineer to work within Betfair’s R&P team. The role will involve working closely with QA Engineers and Developers to improve automation test coverage, contributing to the development of test automation within a growing team, and being an active participant in the teams move to an Agile SDLC.
The successful candidate will have the requisite technical skills, including exposure to a range of software languages and automation testing tools, and will have experience of applying these tools under different SDLC methodologies. A flexible, good humoured attitude to work, along with an eagerness to be a strong team player, is a must.
- Contribute to increasing automated test coverage
- Design, develop and execute automated tests
- Assume ownership of project automation requirements and deliverables
- Contribute to the overall testing effort on projects
- Work on improvements to the existing automated test framework
- Contribute to evolving SDLC and automated testing processes changes
- Provide training and mentoring to less experienced automation engineers
- Drive the Automation Strategy across the Delivery and Cross Functional Teams.
Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications Required:
Essential:
- QTP , or exposure to one or more of JUnit, NUnit, Selenium, HTTPUnit, JSUnit
- Proficiency in one or more of Java, C#, VBScript, as well as proven diagnostic and debugging skills
- Experience working on successful automated testing projects
- Background in functional testing with the ability to plan, design and execute test cases
- Proactive work ethic with the ability to deliver results and meet challenging deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
Desirable:
- Performance testing experience, including execution and analysis
- Experience in developing and working with test frameworks
- Experience of working with highly transactional web sites
- Experience of working on several Java and Oracle n-tier based web sites
- Experience working with Agile development methods is highly desirable
- ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
- University degree in a technical, scientific or analytical subject
