1.Application Engineer – Turbo

In this key position of Honeywell Turbo Technologies you will ensure that specifications of developed turbochargers meet technical and installation criteria of customers. You will provide general product support in co-operation with the responsible sales manager, in a customer team environment.

Specifically, your responsibilities will be:
Calculate, qualify and production release Turbocharger specification to meet customer technical and installation requirements
Build rapport and excellent working relationships with customer
Definition and supply of drawings and prototypes.
Co-ordinate test- work and turbo qualification for customers specific application
Secure customer technical release and raise production release documentation
Provide customer training and presentations

Our expectations:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Three years relevant automotive industry experience
Knowledge of the automotive engine development process as well as emissions control methods and drivers
Highly motivated, self starter, capable of working autonomously but also with the ability to work in and lead teams
Effective communicator, with good listening and questioning skills
Organized, methodical, total quality approach
Foreign language capability in English

2. Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities:
As a product development engineer, you will coordinate product design/analysis activities, prototype hardware procurement /assembly and product testing/evaluation. Typical development projects include compressor and turbine aerodynamic work, bearing system design, seal design & development, attachment joint evaluations, VNT mechanism design & qualification, noise reduction activities, actuator projects, sensor design, etc. The engineer will work with support groups such as the Design Department and the Engineering Lab to test and develop the designs and must document project deliverables through technical reports and supporting documentation. Direct hands-on experience will enhance knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine design and performance with particular emphasis on the interaction of the turbocharger with the engine. Technical program management skills will also be required and applied. The engineer is expected to concurrently manage multiple tasks and semi-independently plan activities and schedules. The results which you produce as an engineer will be critical to Garrett’s worldwide product development projects.

Experience/Education Required/Sought:
B.S./M.S. engineering degree or equivalent.
Two or more years of experience in the turbocharger/diesel engine business preferred.
FEA experience is a plus.
Experience working directly with customers is important.
CAD tools, Windows OS and Microsoft Office general knowledge.
Must be a strong communicator, proficient in English, both speaking and writing.
Strong bias for action.
Strong team player.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn and an aptitude for analysis.
Ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks and plan activities and schedules.
Fundamental knowledge in mechanical and aerodynamic design of turbochargers.
Fundamental knowledge of internal combustion engines.
Basic mechanical “hands-on” ability.
Willingness and ability to travel abroad for extended periods of time.
