Job Description
Title: Pressure Welder
Number of Openings: 10
Department: Fabrication Shop
Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor
Location: The job is based in north-central Saskatchewan, however travel to other project sites in Canada is required from time to time.
Responsibilities and Tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous materials in any position
• Weld pressurized equipment and components
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
• Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
• Other tasks related to welding as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications
• Completion of secondary school or a minimum of 15 years work experience
• A minimum of 10 years work experience as a welder of pressurized equipment and stainless steel
• A journeyman certificate as a welder or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Safety tickets are considered an asset
• Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
• Valid driver’s license is an asset

MACHINISTS
Required Qualifications
• Completion of secondary school or a minimum of 15 years work experience
• A minimum of 10 years work experience with CNC machines
• Journeyman certificate as a Machinist or equivalent
• Skills in programming, set up, operation and maintenance of machine tools
• Proficiency reading, interpreting and identifying errors on shop drawings
• A strong understanding of computer assisted drafting and manufacturing principles
• Able to work with fine tolerances and use a wide variety of measuring equipment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Trade certification for machinists is an asset
• Valid safety certifications are considered an asset
• Valid driver’s license is an asset
