Job purpose:
Responsible for daily operation of enterprise Wintel server systems
Responsibilities:
Performs installation, customization and maintenance of the operating system and systems software products in support of business processing requirements;
Performs system software installations and upgrades system software changes;
Prescribes system backup procedures and directs recovery operations in the event of destruction of all or part of the operating system or other system components;
Provides advice, training, and technical support to customers, leaders, and support staff;
Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls
Monitors the health of the server platforms to achieve optimum performance levels and makes preventative adjustments as necessary;
Ensures maintenance of physical integrity on all production servers;
Provides in-depth diagnosis for operational systems software/hardware failures and develops solutions;
Completes server and application projects as assigned;
Installs server related hardware and software according to schedule, scope of objectives, and standards;
Creates and maintains documentation on the client's server environment;
Determines strategies and standards and provides capacity planning.
Required Skills:
Technical University graduate
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Microsoft NT/2000/2003 OS Support to include DNS, DHCP.
Fundamental Citrix understanding.
Fundamental Windwos Clustering knowledge.
Wintel Technologies, Large Complex Environments
Microsoft 2000/2003 OS Support to include AD, DNS, DHCP
Strong communications, documentation, self motivated
Design, architecture, migration and deployment of Active Directory.
General Networking knowledge
English proficiency
Availabilty to work on US hours
Desired Skills:
MCSE Certification
ITIL Certified
Active Directory
- Knowledge of Networking hardware infrastructure and principles.
- Proven knowledge of WINS and a working knowledge of DNS.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches.
- General VMware knowledge
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to manage projects with little supervision and direction.
