Avira is seeking a highly motivated, driven QA Engineer who will be responsible for the quality of Avira Web Applications.
Working closely with Web QA, Web Development, IT Operations and Project teams you will test, set and enforce quality standards, and be proud to ship both end-user-facing and internal web applications
Responsibilities
* Review functional specification and design documents.
* Create and maintain test plans and test cases.
* Detect, report and track defects in web applications.
* Work closely with Project Analysts and Developers to gather, document, and test against project requirements, ensuring they are met and delivered.
* Clearly track and communicate project status, including flagging and help mitigate risks.
* Pro-actively identify improvements opportunities for our existing systems.
* Python scripting experience or willingness to learn this skill.
* Ability to recognize and balance manual/automation needs vs. coverage.
* Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing demands, and consistently deliver high quality, on time.
* Strong/clear verbal and written communication.
Nice to Have:
* Good understanding of web standards and technologies.
* Performance and load-testing automation testing experience.
* Experience testing web applications/websites with multiple browsers/platforms/operating systems.
* Working knowledge of web security concepts, as well as specific vulnerabilities and attack vectors, and how to test for them.
* Resourcefulness to explore and adopt new tools, approaches, and methodologies, and apply them practically to projects.
* Web-specific automation experience using frameworks (e.g. Selenium).
* Knowledge of network protocols, especially HTTP.
