The Web Developer will be a junior to mid-level Software Engineer with at least 2-5 years of experience. You will be responsible for crafting our site pages which involve creating the HTML/CSS cut-outs and editing the site pages by using a variety of presentation layer approaches. The position requires an understanding of software development, core CS fundamentals and the ability to write JavaScript.
Desire and drive to become an expert in HTML, JavaScript and related technologies
BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MS a plus)
2+ years of WebUI/programming experience (Large scale web application development experience a definite plus).
Essential:
Very good knowledge of HTML, its semantics, and valid W3C coding.
CSS lay outing, up to the extent of splitting content from design trough different browsers. (Mozilla Based/IE/Safari)
Java knowledge would be beneficial (or similar object oriented programming language)
XSL/XML or JSPs. Velocity knowledge a plus.
Preferred but not required
Photoshop (slicing, image optimizing)
Knowledge working with .NET developers in ‘Master pages’ environment
Flash knowledge, Basic action script until XML interaction, FLV control and understanding.
Adobe Photoshop for web ready graphics, to create banners, and website images.
PHP/ASP notions focused on template implementation.
FTP and version control system practice.
Basic Adobe Illustrator knowledge / other vectorial software of choice (illustrative skills will be a plus) • SEO basics (metas, titles, keywords, content, indexation, mod re-writes)
MySQL basics knowledge
JavaScript, understanding of the DOM model, basics for AJAX, common JavaScript logic(such as validating forms, conditional behaviors, CSS modifications, etc)
• Organized, self-motivated and detail oriented
• Have burning sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
