The Water and Power Business Group is currently seeking a Wastewater Site Supervision Team Leader for a new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Romania.
In this role you will be responsible for the management and supervision of the construction contracts – acting as Engineer to the contracts, managing the team of site supervision engineers, managing the team of technical experts checking the contractor’s designs, preparing regular reports to the employer, and acting as a link between the various stakeholders within the project.
This position is due to commence in the Summer of 2007 and is due to finish at the end of 2008, but there is the possibility of an extension of another 12-18 months.
It is essential that the successful candidate must be an international engineer with substantial professional experience. Experience of technical assistance co-ordination and construction supervision and extensive experience of project management and administration of FIDIC conditions of contract, particularly design and construct contracts is also required.
Candidates should have a familiarity with EC funded projects and PRAG, with previous experience in Eastern Europe supervising international contractors, WWTP and sewerage contracts, and design and build contracts. Knowledge of FIDIC claims procedure and the ability to check multi-discipline design submissions would be considered desirable, as well as knowledge of the design of WWTP (activated sludge plants). An understanding of the Halcrow financial management procedures, good report writing skills with a diplomacy in dealing with multiple project stakeholders would be advantageous.
The successful candidate must be both self sufficient both professionally and for living in a secondary city in Romania. They must be able to get on with Romanian clients and team members.
