- Level 2/3 support;
- Unix systems and services administration with an emphasis on supporting production WEB and database servers (PHP, Tomcat, MySQL);
- Building GNS/IT tools, task automation, and systems management infrastructure development and deployment;
- Write and maintain procedures and policies.
- 3 to 5+ years UNIX administration experience in a high-volume critical production service environment with an emphasis on supporting production WEB and database servers (Apache, PHP, Tomcat, MySQL)
- Experience with programming and/or scripting, task automation, and security best practices for server installation and administration.
- Solid experience administrating Apache (HTTP) and MySQL in a production environment mandatory
- Strong knowledge of Perl, PHP, bash, etc., with experiencing building database driven web applications
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting
- Experience with proxies (for example Squid) and web related technologies a definite asset
- Experience with SMS a definite asset
- Experience managing firewalls an asset
- Experience with the administration and use of Subversion an asset
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SNMP, Cacti, MRTG, Nagios, etc. an asset
- Experience with the management and administration of Veritas Netbackup an asset
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills and analysis methodology
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to work under stress production environment is essential
