As a QA Test Automation Engineer you are expected to develop automated tools and test suites to take over some of the software testing regression activities for a Network Management Software.
- Take ownership for the complete software development cycle of the automation code you will be creating, including specification, design, code, test, debug, handover to the targeted teams, support and maintenance.
- Provide ideas and re-architect various modules in the automation system.
- Actively work with the verification, development and device integration teams to acquire any additional information necessary to the automation work and to ensure the delivery of the resulting test suites and API to the teams.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related discipline
- Software development experience
- Experience in working with both Windows and Unix environments
Technical skills:
- Good understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP networking protocols
- Experience with TCL and other scripting languages
Nice to have:
- Good understanding of SNMP based network management
- Experience with switches/routers protocols
- Experience with solaris operating system
- Experience with netcom or ixia traffic generators
-Non-technical skills:
- Good written/spoken English
- Good communication abilities – must be able to efficiently communicate and collaborate with co-workers
