• Maintain manuals and online Help for our client products. Specific projects include end-user manuals, API manuals, instruction sheets, application notes, technical notes, and browser-based online Help systems.
• Create from scratch, small-to-medium scope documents and online Help systems.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Support re-branding, editing, formatting, and maintenance of acquired documentation, as needed.
• Create small-to-medium complexity diagrams and illustrations to support documented content.
• Work closely with other technical writers and interns, as well as engineers and other team members outside the Tech Pubs department.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or related field and at least two years of related business/office experience, which involved working in a team environment.
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Very strong editing skills.
• Expert research skills.
• Strong relationship-building skills, supporting cross-department team activity.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Photoshop, and FrameMaker. Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Flash, and WebWorks is desired. Familiarity with Tcl and Perl is a plus.
• Familiarity with GUI-based and command line software applications.
• A commitment to hard work and high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
• Very strong organizational skills, supporting the ability to multi-task over multiple projects.
• The ability to work independently, quickly, thoroughly, and accurately, following all departmental style, formatting, archival, and procedural rules.
