Setup of client databases and configuration of both Summit software and necessary 3rd party software components
Providing level 2 support of interfaces and utilities of our application to our clients
Ensuring smooth operation and high availability of many database servers and application services
Automation of processes through sql, shell and cron job scripting
Troubleshooting technical problems with our application that could be at the network, database, or environment level
Upgrading db servers and app servers. (version upgrades, patch application)
Proactively monitor log files and take appropriate actions
Perform typical DBA duties for db servers. (Oracle, Sybase and MS-SQL)
Archive and backup data from ftp and database dump.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Writing and running shell scripts and Perl script
Very good analytical and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity working in and troubleshooting UNIX and Windows environments
Detail oriented and have the ability to handle and organize multiple complex technical issues simultaneously
Able to construct SQL queries
Knowledge of a programming language and programming constructs
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows, networking and administration
A plus for candidates also possessing any of these skills:
Database Administration experience in Oracle, Sybase or MS SQL or production database support
Familiarity with reading/debugging C++ code on windows/UNIX
Support for a custom built application or financial application use
Programming experience to be able to troubleshoot C# front-end applications
