The Tax Manager is responsible that all tax matters are understood and correctly applied and the processes and procedures as inline with local legislation; he/she must develop strategies to optimize the overall tax burden while complying with relevant legislation; he/she must maintain a strong client focus
Working Partners/Contacts
Internals: Siemens srl Top Management, internal auditors, commercial and technical heads of divisions, heads of departments, CF, technical, commercial and other Siemens employees; shared services partners: Simea, Forte, AMSBG, SAGO, PSE; other Siemens companies; Externals: Tax inspectors, representatives of local authorities, external auditors, customers, suppliers and other company's partners
Tasks
Ensure compliance with local regulations in terms of direct taxation (profit tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, dividend tax and local tax) indirect taxation (VAT and import duties, temporary customs regimes) individual taxation and social contribution for Siemens srl and and other Group companies
Prepare, review and submit statutory tax reports and supporting information accurately and within set deadlines for Siemens srl and other Group companies
Prepare and report corporate tax package (current and deferred tax, tax reconciliation )
Manage and reconcile tax sensitive data and tax process documentation in Siemens srl and other Group companies in order to ensure accuracy and integrity of tax data
Monitor changes in the Romanian tax legislation and ensure overall company awareness of respective changes by informing and instructing colleagues about actions to be taken
Focus on finding tax opportunities and using them to the Company’s advantage for getting significant tax savings.
Contribute to the optimization of tax reporting and financial processes and to a sound and effective internal control of tax matters for Siemens srl and other Group companies
Manage the tax audits and inspections for Siemens srl and other Group companies
Offer proactive tax advice and assistance to commercial and non-commercial colleagues
Offer support and assistance to expatriates colleagues with regard to non-residents taxation and obtaining work and residence permits
Assist colleagues with tax trainings and identify training needs
Communicate with external and internal tax specialists (incl. HQ tax specialists)
Ensure engagements with other Group companies met professional and Siemens standards
Other tax related activities such as: tax planning, due diligences etc.
Education
- University Degree in Taxation, Economics, Law, or Accounting; Professional Taxation qualification
Knowledge/Languages
Specialization of direct taxation (profit tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, dividend tax and local tax) indirect taxation (VAT and import duties, temporary customs regimes) individual taxation and social contribution
Financial Accounting (local GAAP, IFRS, US-GAAP) and Management accounting
Legal and commercial knowledge
Managing tax inspection; External and Internal Audits; Internal control
Tax risk management
Fluency in English; German
Technologies and tools (tax software, projects management, quality management, processes description, )
Experience
-Professional accounting or taxation qualification; A graduate in a relevant subject such as accounting or business (a specialization in Romanian Tax would be an advantage)
-3+ years experience in taxation; experience in interpreting and clearing complex tax matters; experience with international transaction and exposure to corporate tax in a large multinational environment (experience with a company tax reporting package would be an advantage)
