Job Description:
The Systems Engineer will be an integral part of our engineering team. This position will be physically located at our company office located in Bucharest. The candidate will be crucial in providing escalated support in diagnosing and resolving client and server issues via working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 team members. This role will also lead new client project initiatives such projects to migrate to Amazon Web Services, new installation, software upgrades and lots more.
Key Responsibilities:
-Administer Windows based servers for daily upkeep and maintenance
-Perform server engineering (system builds, application installation/integration, upgrades)
-Perform active directory planning and administration in accordance to best practices (Group
Policies, PowerShell Scripting)
-Respond to system alerts and escalations from other team members
-Troubleshoot and build Exchange, SQL and other Microsoft application environments
-System backups and Recovery (DR Planning)
-Server virtualization migration and implementation (P2V, V2V)
-Act as technical lead in deploying new project initiatives.
Technical Requirements:
-At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
-Working experience and above average knowledge of Windows Server roles and features (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Group policies)
-Experience with Microsoft technologies (Exchange/Lync/SharePoint)
-Experience with Citrix technologies desired
-Knowledge of virtualization platform (VMware/Hyper-V/Xen)
-Knowledge of cloud technologies: Amazon AWS, Azure, Office365.
-Working experience in Linux environments.
Other Requirements:
-High proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
-Ability to work independently
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science
-Certification desirable (CompTIA A+/Network +, Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE)
