- In this position, SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR, will be responsible for installing & administering Windows servers, administrating Active Directory, administrating & troubleshooting Exchange in a high availability environment. This includes installing and maintaining systems, performance tuning, backup, monitoring and keeping patches up-to-date.
- Clustering, mirroring, redundancy responsibilities. Maintaining data integrity will also be a priority.
- Confirmit servers administration/ troubleshooting and Confirmit systems setup and support
- Basic MS SQL server administration may be required occasionally
- The SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR will be point of contact for Windows 2003/2000 servers and their associated services, and will be a consultant when developing systems that rely on such systems.
- The SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR will be responsible for investigating, tracking, and concluding any incidents that occurs within the environment for which is responsible
- Some other tasks that the SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR could be called upon to perform are systems configurations & after-hours support.
- The person is responsible in assisting the implementation of tools to monitor the systems
- Oversees and prioritizes maintenance of hardware and software;
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software purchases and configurations.
- Maintain contact with providers and other systems administrators as needed
- Provide technical assistance in the development and maintenance of plans, documentation, standards and procedures
- Document systems management activities.
- High experience in Windows 2003/2000 servers administration including security patches, upgrades and Active Directory management administration and maintenance;
- Very good knowledge of configuration & administration of MS Exchange server;
- Operational knowledge on cluster management
- Experienced in the Windows 2003/2000/XP operating system and Windows 2003/2000/XP IT infrastructures
- Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server administration
- Knowledge of networking hardware (e.g routers, switches etc.)
- Basic knowledge of WAN networks and routing protocols (i.e. RIP, EIGRP, OSPF) and their applicable usage
- Performance tuning
- Comfortable with all aspects of system administration (i.e, system installation and configuration, system security, installing third party software, system troubleshooting), experience with hardware troubleshooting
- Writing/refining installation and support manuals, procedures and processes for new services
- Basic knowledge or exposure to project management methodologies
- Ability to understand project/task objectives and see through to full completion without supervision
- Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly
- English - very good knowledge
